Song Protest Album- Livin' High On The Hog

LIVIN’ HIGH ON THE HOG (Country Western Feel)

If we had a washing machine
And we had a dryer
And we had that cable tv
We’d be truly living high on the hog

If we hit the lottery
When we went to the mall
We could eat in that fancy food court
And not just window shop and walk the halls

Johnny could get shoes that fit
And momma could buy a new dress
And we'd be shopping at those name brand stores
Instead of haggling down at Sally Ann’s.

I heard some big wigs out in New York City
Were hitting up Uncle Sam for another billion
I wonder to eat if they ever had to dig through a trashcan
Or set up a payment plan just to pay their rent

Their saying they wanna eliminate
All welfare and government checks
Well if they showed the charity God talks about
We wouldn’t need them cards or checks

If we had a washing machine
And we had a dryer
And we had that cable tv
We’d be truly living high on the hog
We’d be truly living high on the hog.
